My friend Gabriel chapman started a cool street musicians group called STREET HOME CHICAGO.

Gabe is a big hearted young man who fell in love with the sounds of the Chicago street musicians

to and from his job as a graphic designer and has gathered some of the best buskers to perform

for this one night celebration. I am emceeing the night and playing some songs. I founded CASA (coalition

for the advancedment of street art) in 1988 to fight the city who were trying to ban it. I worked with the city

city council,The ACLU,  streets and sanitation, and the CTA to come up with a License and areas for

musicians and artists both on the street and in the EL. I wanted to bring respect amnd understanding to

this very ancient tradition of open performance which is celebrated in places like Europe and should be

in a place like America that professes to be the capital of Democracy. We won and have kept street art

alive!

yay! My first workshop at Old town school of folk music! 1 pm to 3 pm on SUNDAY NOVEMBER 21.

I'll be playing my tunes and perhaps some classic stuff i do and talking about the energy of solo

performance and connecting with different audiences. I also plan on talking about songwriting, singing,

Guitar playing, making a living through music and all that it encompasses, and in general sharing my

love for expression and spontaneity and being an artist. It will be an open ended format so i'll be expecting

dialogue with the people that attend and answering questions. It should be really really fun and hopefully

She and her bestfriend Ricki Mcrae get money from wonderful donors and buy winter

jackets/coats for poor kids in the hood. Rikki is also a remarkable singer-songwriter and

is performinmg with guitar genius Chris Siebold at 8pm. My band mate Vijay Tellis Nayak

starts the night at 6:30 playing solo piano. The incredible Ingrid Gaudins plays at 7;30 and i

The 10 year anniversary show for MOOKIE JAM which is a yearly benefit for an artist or artists who

have multiple sclerosis. I am playing a couple tunes. There will be some incredible performances by

local Musicians, actors, and comedians. The show starts at 8 pm. It's $40 advance or $50 at the door.
